Digital Skills Course with Stuart

"I joined Citizens Advice/ Works for Us in 2018 and have been supporting clients to overcome their fears surrounding technology, whilst improving their digital skills and wellbeing. It is a privilege to be involved with such an important project in helping ensure that people within our community do not become digitally excluded and that everyone has an opportunity to learn and benefit from technology.
I use a very client–centred approach, meaning that it is important to first make our clients feel comfortable and secondly understand what each individual needs to achieve and how they can benefit. We start with a very informal conversation and gradually introduce them to a combination of 1-2-1 learning and courses that take                   place in a very friendly and relaxed environment. It’s not just about how to use a PC, but more importantly, enabling, improving, and enhancing                     communication skills, so that our clients not only avoid becoming digitally excluded but feel confident to communicate with organisations such as                    the council, benefits, GP surgeries, apply for employment, know how to search for jobs, and finally  improve well-being as well."
