Who We Are
For over 40 years, we've been supporting people in Milton Keynes to grow in confidence, develop new skills, and take meaningful steps forward - both personally and professionally.
We’re a small, caring team who take the time to understand each individual. We believe in meeting people where they are, recognising their unique strengths, and supporting the whole person - not just their job search.
Whether you're navigating change, rebuilding confidence, or exploring new opportunities, we’re here to help with personalised guidance, one-to-one coaching, digital skills training, and a warm, non-judgemental approach every step of the way.

trustee
I have been actively involved with Works for Us for the past 6 years and Chairperson for the last 4 years, however I have known and worked with the Charity for many years before that.
I have lived and worked in Milton Keynes since 1983 serving the community, My main role was contracting for vocational training for young people and adults including advice and guidance services. When I was asked to become a trustee for Works for Us it felt like a good fit, hopefully my experience could prove useful.
A major achievement in my career was to be awarded an MBE in 2001 for Services to Training for young people and adults in Milton Keynes and North Buckinghamshire. I was extremely fortunate I worked with amazing people, great Training Providers, Employers and my team of Contract Managers who contributed to making this possible.
When I am not volunteering I enjoy keeping fit, going to the gym and walking most days plus it is well known at Works for Us I actually enjoy ironing and cleaning. I find these tasks very therapeutic.
I am always indebted to the very small Team at Works for Us, they never fail to make people who use our services, welcome and there is always time to talk and have a cuppa.
