Works for Us is proud to be partners with The Open University and their Mumentum Project. The Mumentum Project has been introduced to help mothers overcome challenges when returning to work and to push forward in their careers. On Friday 12th June, we introduced the Children's Art Workshop which is free for children aged 4-7 years old. In this workshop, parents could attend with their children to create artwork, make friends, relax and contribute ideas that may inspire a children's book. The workshop was designed to introduce Mumentum to families across Milton Keynes and to raise awareness about the hard work mothers put in every day. This workshop was a huge success and provided a vital service for mothers and children to build up their confidence and feel supported. |

On Thursday 8th May, Citizens Advice Milton Keynes was incredibly honoured to welcome Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal to formally open their new premises in Wymbush. During the visit, Her Royal Highness met staff, volunteers, trustees and partner organisations involved in supporting residents across Milton Keynes through carers support, health and wellbeing services, employability programmes, outreach work and core advice services. As Patron of the national Citizens Advice service, The Princess Royal was particularly interested in hearing directly from teams and volunteers about the kinds of issues people are facing locally and the work taking place every day across our organisation. A huge thank you to everybody who helped make the day such a success - including our staff, volunteers, trustees, partners and supporters. The visit also marked an important moment for the organisation following a major year of change and relocation. After many months of planning and hard work, it was a proud moment to see the building officially opened in such a special way. |

March 2025Supporting International Women’s Day with MK Soroptimists We were delighted to attend the International Women’s Day event organised by MK Soroptimists, where an inspiring afternoon tea was held to raise funds for our local women’s domestic violence service. The event also supported their important project aimed at engaging young boys in conversations about women’s rights and domestic violence awareness. The afternoon featured insightful talks from the Mayoress, Marie Bradburn, and MP Emily Darlington, highlighting the incredible work being done to support women in our community. It was an honour to be part of such a meaningful cause, and we are grateful to MK Soroptimists for their dedication to raising awareness and making a difference. |
